Master Dean Walradt

Biographical Note

Dean Walradt was born on November 1, 1950 in Cheyenne, Wyoming and died December 15, 2003 in Dallas, Texas.  He graduated from East High [Cheyenne] and attended the University of Wyoming.  He married and moved to Houston, Texas where he lived for 20 more years.  Dean had one son, one granddaughter and two grandchildren at the time of his passing.  Dean’s life partners were Glenn Knuth and Thomas Kent.


In Houston, Dean was a founding member of the National Leather Association (NLA)-Houston and was the director of NLA’s annual conference, Living in Leather IX and X.  In Dallas, Dean was a member of the Leather Knights, a founding member of the Discipline Corps, co-chair of NLA-Dallas, and co-chair of NLA-Dallas’ event, Beyond Vanilla.  Dean owned the resource website, leathernetwork.com, the event boy’s training camp, and the leather store, Leather by Boots - Dallas.


Dean was honored as Knight of the Year 1998 by the Leather Knights, NLA-International Man of the Year 2001, the Pantheon of Leather Publishers Award in 1995, and NLA-International Order of Merit.  Dean served on the BOard of Directors of the Leather Leadership Conference.  As an author, Dean published both fiction and non-fiction works in International Leatherman, Powerplay, MACH, and appeared in photo shoots for The Leather Journal and Cuir.
